Bama Bound

What a fantastic trip we had to the University of Alabama on Nov. 20!  Tours of the President's Mansion and campus, Early College Presentation, eating in the South Field Suite of Bryant Denny Stadium, touring the locker room and Fail Room all contributed to an oustanding day.  The kids got the college experience with lots and lots of walking.  We had a great time visiting the famous Shirt Shop and Ferguson Center Super Store.  We appreciate so many parents and grandparents taking time off work to go with us and also to Mr. Page, the best bus driver.  And a huge thank you to Michael and Jill Howell as well as Dr. Causey from the university.  Enjoy these pictures of some pretty terrific young people.  They were bragged on several times during the day by university officials.  Top notch they are.

Started off with a Meet and Greet with Miss Alabama Caitlin Brunell.  She signed autographs for the girls.  Not sure why the guys did not want a signed picture.  The Mansion was rich in history and absolutely beautiful.  Don't our studetns look sharp.

In front of the Walk of Champions at Bryant Denney.  Students had fun taking pictures with the statues of coaches.
Mr. Ken Gaddy of the Bryant Museum spoke with the students during lunch.

Capstone Men and Women provide interesting information about the President's Mansion.
Dr. Judy Bonner is the new President of the Univeristy of Alabama.

In the tunnel at Bryant Denney.  Think about how many great players have passed through the tunnel.
Pretty cool!
In the South Field Suite after a nice lunch from Zoe's.
Representatives from Early College, admissions, business, HES, engineering, etc. answers questions
from students and parents.  The students were given information about early college credit.
The fee per hour is $144, quite a discount.

Civil War era sofa.  President Garland's picture from the 1850s/1860s hangs on the wall.

Showing off 14 National Championships in the recruting room just up the steps and inside fromthe Walk of Champions. We were able to tour the locker room, go down the tunnel, see the field, visit the Fail Room and then eat in the South Field Suite.  Quite an honor for such a small group as ours.  Wish you could have seen the girls getting their picture made next to AJ McCarron's life size picture.  Priceless!
